I moved to Current York in 1975, at the mid-point of the longish decade this documentary aims to camouflage (June 1969 to June 1981–from the Stonewall riots to the first diagnoses of AIDS) . So I was alive to to stare what kinds of memories it would trigger and spicy whether there would be any photos or film footage of places I customary to hang out. It definitely triggered some memories (one interviewee spoke of his habit of leaving his wallet at home when he went out cruising but writing his name and address on a part of paper to attend cops identify his body in case he didn’t beget it out of a hazardous situation–I remember doing that! Insane, yes.)

Viewers that weren’t fragment of the Unusual York-Fire Island scene will be disappointed as this is a very parochial documentary–there is no mention here of Key West, P-town, or San Francisco to name a few other “cities of the Insensible.” I wish the filmmakers had do a tiny more pain into compiling film clips from the era. There seemed to be a lot more pan-and-scan shots of unruffled photos. Since many of these were from the “artistic” rather than “journalistic” school of photography they tended to design some of the seedier elements (like the used piers in the Hudson River) watch more blooming and less ominous that they actually were. While many of the interviewees spoke of being out all night, most of the visual components of the film consisted of daytime shots, stripping the film of any “City of Night” kind of edginess it could have had.

I was also disappointed that all of the interviewees were from a “rah-rah, wasn’t it all so fun” mold, and that there was very limited psychological or sociological reflection on what the rampant sexuality was all about. All saw it as a reaction to the repression and oppression of the pre-Stonewall era and all felt it was notable (and would do it all over again…this time with condoms…if they could turn abet the clock) . Although the film isn’t intellectually moving in any design, shape, or develop, it is wonderful to ogle. It’ll be fun to observe again with friends who also survived that decadent decade in Modern York.

The title is a puny misleading since it only tells the record of joyful sex in Unusual York City in the 70’s, but oh well I level-headed enjoyed the film and tripped out on all the archival photos and video especially the jubilant docks and St. Mark’s Baths! That was crazy!

My main beef though is there impartial wasn’t enough meat to the myth. Yea, everybody is having sex, sex, sex nonstop, but hearing about it over and over got kinda repetitive. I wish there had been some interviews with somebody other than unbiased the sex participants like city officials or doctors to eye at the narrative from a different perspective. Also a brief introduction would have been nice, people mentioned “stonewall” a few times but I have no notion what that is. It was never explained. Detached worth watching.

For those out there keeping score: numerous rear nudity, brief frontal nudity and no penetration.

If you like the Pink Panther cartoons, then you will like this one! The Pink Panther is frosty and hungry on Christmas. He’ll try anything to gain a hot meal, but nothing seems to work out for him (as usual) . There is no dialog, but I consider this impartial enhances the special. I also really worship the songs! Its comely comic and delightful. One drawback is the animation is alot like the other pink panther cartoons (which are fairly former) (Think: “Yes Virgina, there is a Santa Claus”) So its a bit obscene and only a few colours are veteran (alot of the stuff seems overly pinky/orange) . But its level-headed vast to scrutinize and I cherish it! And the ending is cute too! Valid for kids or any nostalgic adults.

It was surprisingly thoughtful of MGM to release the other two Pink Panther TV Specials here on this DVD along with “A Pink Christmas”! It’s not determined from the screen or the DVD info listed that all three Pink Panther TV Specials are on this disc, but they indeed are. “A Pink Christmas” which aired on ABC Dec 7, 1978; “Olym-Pinks” which aired on ABC Feb 22, 1980; and “Pink At First Glimpse” which aired on ABC May 10, 1981 were all approximately 25 minutes in length. “A Pink Christmas” was adapted from a 1906 O. Henry short anecdote called ‘The Cop and the Anthem’ (credited in the cartoon) and is a fantastic ‘haves and have-nots’ type record that makes a perfect adaptation to the world of the Pink Panther - it’s not an dependable re-telling, the character in the short narrative is trying to gather into jail so he can be warm and have food, while the Panther is on a quest for food, but he does try at one point to pick up into a jail. “Olym-Pinks” capitalized on the 1980 Winter Olympics that were held in Lake Placid, Recent York that year, and is a series of very competitive olympic games played between Panther and the ‘little man’ (as the animators referred to him) . And “Pink At First Survey”, although aired in May of ‘81, is essentially a Valentine’s Day epic. The studio could easily have only released the Christmas special and charged the same amount, but they musty some foresight and gave we ‘completists’ a bonus with the other two TV Specials. While not having the ‘classic-ness’ (for lack of a better word) of the 1960s Panther cartoons, the specials are fun, and clearly the Christmas special is the highlight of the DVD and easily worth the label in and of itself. I remember when it first aired (I was 9) and it didn’t really advise all that often over the years. And as a fan of animation, it’s frigid to actually have it on DVD after nearly 30 years.

I first saw Frequency the day it was released in theatres, after I saw a preview that got me extremely enthusiastic in the movie. I didn’t know quite what to quiz, but what I found was well written movie, with superior acting performances and a very bewitching storyline, a truly exquisite moviegoing experience. The account focuses on a cop named John Sullivan (played brilliantly by James Caviezel in a breakthrough colossal conceal performance) who lives in Queens, NY in early October 1999, which happens to be the date of an appearance of a phenomenon that allows John to communicate with his father Frank (with a very solid and emotional performance from Dennis Quaid), on the same radio, in the same house. The interesing piece is that John talks to Frank thirty years earlier, merely days before Frank, a firefighter, dies herocially trying to rescue a person trapped in a blazing fire. Frank and John destroy up making catastrophic changes in the timeline, which leads to the brutal slay of John’s mother(in an gracious performance from Elizabeth Mitchell) only days later in 1969. The movie is really a combination of several different elements. First of all it focuses on a father-son relationship between Frank and John. The interaction between Caviezel and Quaid is respectable, and leads to some of the films most emotionally enchanting moments. The emotion is skillfully achieved, as Caviezel and Quaid don’t act face-to-face, but across a HAM radio. The interplay between the two time periods really adds to the movie without overshadowing the its account. Frequency also combines elements of suspense, action, mystery, and tense drama. Frequency covers all of the bases, and does so very skillfully. This brings us to the DVD disc itself, which comes from Novel Line Home Video, who completely loaded the disc with a gargantuan amount of special features, including many engrossing DVD-ROM features that can be accessed by any PC with a DVD-ROM drive and PC Well-behaved installed. If you don’t have PC Superb on your computer, the DVD will install it for you if you so decide. The disc also has deleted scenes, as well as several feature legnth commentaries(by the director, producer, and actor Noah Emmerich who plays the adult Gordo, John’s best friend) . The disc also includes an involving new documentary, as well as a trailer and animation galleries. If you are are willing to let your mind go a miniature bit to collect the science of the storyline, it actually becomes a moving portion of the movie. This movie would definitely be a top-notch addition to any DVD collection. Frequency also offers an extremely bewitching and rewarding finale that will not disappoint anyone who watches it. I think a capable thriller, one that not only keeps me on the edge of my seat after the first viewing, but one that keeps me there with every viewing. “Frequency” is one of those, that no matter how often I peek it, it takes it’s beget on me from the first frame and won’t let go until the last. It’s more then fair a thriller though. It’s some fantastic Sci-Fi entertainment with tremendous special effects, it’s the poignant narrative of a special bond between father and son, and there’s lots of heart pounding action sequences as well. Add to that one astonishing cast including Dennis Quaid, Jim Caviezel and Andre Braugher, a current occupy on time move, and you are in for 2 hours of some beautiful entertainment.

A Police Officer John Sullivan(Caviezel), by a miracle of nature, is able to contact his father, Frank(Quaid), on an dilapidated ham radio. The miracle? …The Northern Lights design a rare appearance in Recent York. What’s truly wonderful is that his father died thirty years earlier fighting a fire. He is able to change the course of history, by forewarning his father about the tragedy to arrive. But by changing the course of history, John and Frank may have unleashed an detestable chain of events yet to near. They most work together, with the time they have to close a serial killer.

The DVD is a broad catch. The transfer is gorgeuos. A fabulous widescreen presentation that takes in all the action and special effects in brillant colors. Yesterday (10-11-01) I saw Easy Arrive, Easy Go for the first time. As it got underway with Elvis in the Navy in charge of getting rid of mines, I opinion it had a chance to be one of Elvis’ best, particularly with the catchy title song and the fact that Elvis had trimmed down some from his 1966 efforts (he probably also did it as he was getting ready to marry Priscilla.)

The basic storyline had potential, and I was really getting into the movie until the “Yoga” song and the portrayal of the beatnick theme that was current in the 1960s. After that, you mediate “Elvis objective going through the motions again. How can he let himself be treated this blueprint by the Colonel? “

The movie does originate somewhat of a recovery as the hasten to the adore begins and Elvis gets into one of his best fight scenes on the opposition’s boat.

Well, perhaps not EXACTLY, but that’s what comes to mind when I assume of the third season of Reboot. The first of Reboot was Saturday morning cartoon fare. Expedient, but but not improbable. The second season was DEEP, and contains my common episode of the entire series, ANDRAIA. But the third season is probably the most celebrated, and the four episodes on this DVD are probably the reason why.

The first episode, Icons, is one of my all-time well-liked episodes of anything ever. In a dwelling inspired by the Seven Samurai and The Gorgeous Seven, a now grown-up Andraia and Enzo Matrix must befriend some unlikely heros set aside a system which is in such abominable condition that another lost game will undoubtedly cause it to rupture. This epsisode features a frigid atmosphere, gargantuan dialog, and a game inspired by Conan the Barbarian (but with the heroes of the system rebooting as scotish warriors, including Matrix rebooting as William Wallace) . Anime fans will undoubtably stare the background motion carry out ancient when Matrix fights is fighting a gargoyle (a total anime-style flying through the air moment) .

The second episode is a Star Plug tribute that any Trekkie will savor to death. Most of the episode is about Matrix and Andraia taking sides, working out their disagreements, and (oh yeah) finding and destroying a virus. Gorgeous enormous.

The area of season 3 (share of which is on this DVD) is very well-thought out, and the characters are awesome (especially Bob and Mouse) . I cherish the character development and the relationships that we peer make in season 3 too. The imagination effect into the set, the characters and this display in general, is pure genius. All three of these DVD’s are going straight to my wish list!

I recently watched this entire series, and although the first few episodes initiate uninteresting, the series is extraordinary. The writers have created a explain that combines science fiction with level-headed terror and fantastic sage telling that will not let you down. If you have only seen an episode, or even unbiased allotment of an episode, engage my advice and glance the series from the beginning. I had seen the present on a few times, but it failed to accumulate my attention because I was wondering what the heck was going on. Imagine this: a giant gothic building that serves as a “sanctuary” to various odd, freakish and/or unsafe creatures that exist in the world.

That’s the understanding late “Sanctuary: The Complete First Season,” a fantasy/sci-fi reveal that started off as a series of webisodes, then got turned into a display for the Sci Fi (Sy Fy? ) Channel. The first season starts off shaky and sometimes painfully droll (nubbins!), but the second half suddenly smooths itself into a solid arc of secrets, conspiracies, and a fanatical enemy organization.

Forensic psychiatrist Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne) has a heavenly foul life — his girlfriend has left, his job is a joke, and nobody believes his deductions. But during a bizarre abolish investigation, he encounters a uncommon woman named Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) who offers him a job at the Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary turns out to be a ample cathedral-like structure filled with “Abnormals” — mermaids, elementals, iguana-men, two-faced dudes, or anything that doesn’t tumble in the boundaries of known science. But the Sanctuary’s residents are now in difficulty from a charming Abnormal named John Druitt (Christopher Heyerdahl), who has a longtime connection to Helen. And unless he gets what he wants from her, he’ll raze her daughter Ashley (Emilie Ullerup) .

Other Sanctuary problems: a trio of amnesiac women who may be the Morrigan, a drug lord among the Folding Men, an autistic boy whose pictures assure Abnormals, a Himalayan plane shatter with a mind-altering monster, a brain parasite in the Bermuda Triangle that threatens to turn Magnus into a psycho killer, the superfertile Nubbins (like carnivorous Totoros), a man who looks suspiciously like Magnus’ unhurried father, and a pair of reporters who inspect the Sanctuary team fighting rare killer insects. And John Druitt reappears to divulge that an ancient friend of Helen’s has turned against her…

And the Sanctuary has a original enemy — the fanatical Cabal, who want all Abnormals under their control. When they unleash a biological weapon that turns Abnormals into raving killers, Helen’s worn stare group (”The Five”) must reunite to set aside the Abnormal population.

The first half of “Sanctuary: The Complete First Season” is a severely mixed bag — most of it isn’t really unpleasant, but it’s not terribly novel or entertaining. And the “nubbins” (tribbles with teeth) episode is unbiased embarrassingly comical. But with the introduction of Nicola Tesla (who is a vampire!), suddenly the entire series tightens up and becomes far more streamlined, complex and emotionally noteworthy.

Along the procedure, the writers contain the series with all sorts of freaky creatures (ranging from a Hulk-like supersoldier to a floating snake beastie), slimy body parts, and some gun-heavy action scenes. The writing is rather wobbly in the first half (”Women and geeks first… oh, no, that’s all of us”), but the sci-fi edge gives it a quirky appeal (”I guess Ike didn’t want to breathe the same air as the Nazi High Teach.” “Some of them didn’t even breathe air”) .

And “Sanctuary” has a radiant striking leer — half industrial science complex, and half Gothic decay, with stout cathedral-like buildings, grey cloudy skies, and the half-ruined Customary City. Most of the backgrounds are CGI, which gives the series a level-headed, stylized see.

Despite her awkward accent, Tapping is a mighty presence as the hyperintellectual, immortal Helen Magnus, and Dunne is incandescent from the open as the Daniel Jackson of the series (quick-witted and geeky, with a tragic past) . Ryan Robbins is astronomical as the resident techno-superbrain, who is unnerved by his maintain Abnormal secret, and Christopher Heyerdahl does a intelligent two-character turn — he’s the charming, serene killer John Druitt, and he’s also the timorous but capable butler Bigfoot.

The one fallacious ticket is Ashley — while Ullerup does a radiant job, the character is an urban fantasy cliche — cocky, gun-happy, and wears a leather catsuit during fights. But the supporting cast is attractive curious, especially since the writers launch ushering in Victorian literary and historical figures.

“Sanctuary: The Complete First Season” has some powerful wobbles in its first half, but the second half stabilizes and flowers like a shadowy rose. Seek it, if nothing else to prepare for the second season.

I am a enormous fan of the terminator series. I consider the anecdote is one of the best ever concieved as it has alot to do with whats really going on in the world. Will artificial intelligence ever come a point were it becomes self aware? Its a very attractive put a question to and I consider that is one of the reasons why it has been so successful as a series. This is also one of the only trilogys that I feel serene has alot of potential for future movies. As for T3, it is without a doubt the worst film of the 3 but with that being said I mild really enjoyed this film. Alot of the people that disliked it did so because they said it went aid on everything that was established in T2. I am not one of these people and I really like the aspect of this film that turned around and said Judgement day is inevitable. Its without a doubt the single best twist to this entire anecdote in my conception because in reality it really is. Technology will continue to drive forward with computers getting better and better and no matter what you do to close it, someone else will pop up and continue the research and development. Its basically where we are today with technology. There is no stopping the advancment that we recognize taking status on almost a daily basis. If one company were to close develpment in a determined status, someone else would fair pop up and bewitch that companies or persons dwelling.

Anyways that is really why I liked this film so considerable. It took the series in a completly novel direction by stating that there was no arrangement to conclude it while the first two movies focused on what to do to actually conclude it. With that being said this movie had its flaws and it objective isnt on the same level that T1 & T2 are on. Its calm a highly spellbinding action film with some grand performances and a gargantuan ending that perfectly sets up the Terminator film that I am dying to examine, the one site in the wasteland of the future. Hats off to Arnold as well who really busted his butt to derive into killer shape for this film so he wouldnt observe any different than he did during the first 2 films. He pulled it off without a hitch. Honest another testament to that guys ability to work his body and regain into killer shape.

Anyways on to the HD-DVD…

There were a few people on the HD forums that were disappointed in this transfer as it didnt point to the amount of detail that some of the better transfers have shown. While it is proper that this transfer doesnt have the detail exhibit in some of the other transfers like Aeon Flux, Batman Begins and Sahara, it is quiet a colossal looking film and a gargantuan improvment overthe SD version. One of the thing you have to hold into fable is the fact that definite films honest translate over to HD with noteworthy better results than others do. T3 was shot using Super35 and to sum up the Super35 process, it doesnt exercise as worthy plot on the negative that regular anamorphic does thus you have a dinky loss of detail compared to those that employ standard anamorphic. With Super35 you also have to manufacture intermediate prints to find the transfer onto a film that can be customary in theatres. Everytime you earn an intermediate print you lose resolution and detail. So to sum it up as I really dont want to score into a mammoth technical discussion on Super35 and the other film processes. Super35 honest does not have the image quality that regular anamorphic does period. T3 is a super35 film thus when you transfer the t3 film onto HD it honest isnt going to eye as curious as a lot of the other films that arent Super35. Some of the main characteristics of Super35 are increased grain and less detail, both which are reveal in the HD transfer of T3.

With that being said, T3 mild looks spacious and is a great improvment over the SD version. I am actually a fan of increased graain as long as it doesnt inspect noisy which in this case it doesnt. It adds a disticnt perceive to the film. As powerful as some people would appreciate for every film to study like the Batman Begins of Aeon Flux transfer, its unprejudiced a dreadful plan. To produce evey film ogle the same would be like taking all of the artistic possibilites of film and throwing them down the toilet. Its pleasurable that films witness different because it would be a very stupid world of cinema if everything looked the same. Unprejudiced image what Tim Burtons Sleepy Hollow would study like if he venerable the same film and process veteran for Batman Begins. It would have absolutly destroyed the film and would have taken all of the spooky atmoshpere away. He purposly dilapidated rotten processing to beget all of the colors washed out and to do it more grainy and more contrasty. That film also looks sizable on HD-DVD but like T3 doesnt have a transfer that shows as considerable detail as some of the other transfers.

The sooner everyone relaizes that not every film is supposed to have wonderful detail, brilliant colors, & natural difference. Films differ by the processes broken-down to develop the film and those differences in process equate to a incompatibility in characteristics in a HD transfer. You have to educate yourself on fair what processes were aged for each particular film and only then can you compose an educated critique of a particular films HD transfer.

To sum this up, T3 is certainly not a disc you want to pop in when your trying to prove someone impartial how remarkable detail can be seen in a HD movie. It was filmed in Super35 thus it was never trying to be a film that had a crazy amount of detail in the print. With that being said, T3 is a large transfer that is proper to its master print. Its a mammoth improvment over the SD version and its a tall film which hopefully leads the series to a 4th film which is plot in the future. I know I wont ever be done with the plan of a original Terminator flick until that particular fable has been told. Here is to hoping they accept around to making that happen.

The title STALKER is quite misunderstood because many contemplate it is a translation from a Russian word that means ‘to stalk.’. Actually Tarkovsky’s script inserted the word STALKER thinking it was a catchy English equivalent for something like a Russian pathfinder or guide. Only those quick-witted and sensitive enough to creep Tarkovsky’s waves of feeling, emotion, and view can comprehend his message of possible salvation and redemption through treasure and persistent searching for human truth. The writing on the video box implies this is another sci fi film, but clearly it is not. Tarkovsky’s substantial films are mythical allegories in the tradition of Pilgrim’s Progress or Piers Plowman. For me, Tarkovsky is the ultimate challenge in shiny film making, because he presents and discusses his ideas only in the context of the film itself, not unbiased as a media vehicle to command. What strikes me most is his absolutely consistent sense of dart in all his films: lifeless, deliberate, but fluid and highly organic. He is one of the few grand masters of film as an art compose.

This is a film about faith, divine grace and the fruitless vanity stemming from our soul’s unique sin. To quote from one of the characters in the film,” My mind preaches vegetarianism, but my heart longs for a juicy part of steak.” And this is the premise of the three characters glide into the Zone - to contemplate out their steak: to acquire the Room in the Zone that will grant them their wishes; and this coming from the very same people whose professions demands higher standards of legal living from them, careers that require them to preach vegetarianism. As for Writer, he is, yes, a writer who is going into the Zone to see and beg for inspiration and faith in life as a whole; until Writer can bag this wish, his cynicism and lack of faith can be summed up in one of his quotes:” A writer can only write about his readers.” Professor is a scientist whose reason for seeking out the Room is unspecified until at the very slay of the film but I will not relate his reason.He is a researcher who has to acquire his boss’s fury and defintely hates his job at the lab. The editing, space designs, music and lighting, the human choreography, the wisdom and everything in this film qualifies it as the best film ever made. Totally modern without trying to be. If you only spy one film for the rest of your life this has to be it! It will acquire you want to live better, stirring profound thoughts and feelings within you long after the film’s over. This is more than a film, it’s almost a miracle. The British imprint ARTIFICIAL Glance apparently has better English subtitles and shows the complete film without cuts unlike the American version, or so I read.

Although CSI is definitely one of the best shows on television, this dvd is a shrimp bit of a letdown. It’s bare bones as far as extras go (which is not taking advantage of the dvd format as far as I’m concerned) . There’s no subtitles (I’m not deaf, but what if I was? ) . The tag is almost twice as powerful as any other season of a network television note (most others range from $40-$50) . I collected believe it’s a expansive display, but they could’ve done a better job. If you really wanna peruse it, rent it. UPDATE: DO NOT Prefer THIS. They are re-releasing this in the coming months with extras and in anamorphic widescreen format (like they did with all the other releases) so Attach YOUR MONEY and capture the spot they should’ve released to launch with.

Simply, the best explain on T.V. Each seaon is mammoth and now you can examine your popular episodes anytime you want. You’ll obtain 24 episodes in the first season, including some of the best of the series.

Woody Allen has said that European audiences are more receptive to his films these days than American audiences. Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) is his fourth European movie, and in many ways his most French film yet. State in Avilés, Barcelona, and Oviedo, Vicky Cristina Barcelona follows Allen’s London films, Match Point (2005), Scoop (2006), and Cassandra’s Dream (2007) . It stars Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation), Javier Bardem (No Country for Venerable Men), Patricia Clarkson, and Penélope Cruz (Volver), and tells the epic of a lovers’ threesome. Shortly after arriving in Barcelona on vacation, two young American women in their 20s, Vicky (Rebecca Hall) and Cristina (Johansson), are invited by a smooth-talking artist, Juan Antonio (Javier Bardem) to employ a weekend in Oviedo, drinking wine and making admire with him. Because she is engaged to be married, pragmatic Vicky is reluctant at first. Cristina, however, is initiate to the seduction. In “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” Woody Allen begs to contradict another pundit of his age, Mick Jagger. Woody demonstrates in his latest movie that you can’t EVER derive what you want, and you also can’t accumulate what you need. He demonstrates this in the epic of how Vicky (Rebecca Hall) and Cristina (Scarlett Johansson), two comely young Americans staying in Barcelona for a few months, react to the romantic overtures of the dashing, primally sexy artist Juan Antonio (Javier Bardem) . Vicky–a master’s candidate in “Catalan identity,” although she is not Catalan and barely speaks Catalan or even Spanish–finds that sex with Juan Antonio shakes up her previously solid feelings for her dullish American fiance, Doug (Chris Messina) . Cristina–a dilettantish photographer/filmmaker who is defined by the fact that she only knows what she DOESN’T want in a relationship with a man–finds greater satisfaction with Juan Antonio, at least until Maria Elena (Penelope Cruz), Juan Antonio’s volatile, insanely jealous ex-wife, shows up.

Some critics have opined that “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” is a hackneyed blast at naive Americans left at sea by European sexual sophistication. However, I believe it’s more a delineation of Woody’s basic plan that happiness in appreciate is transitory at best. How can you possibly maintain up Juan Antonio and Maria Elena–who are constantly at each other’s throats, to the point that Maria Elena brandishes knives and guns–as an example of sexual sophistication? They can’t live with each other, they can’t live without each other, but she may kill up killing him, herself, and a few innocent bystanders. As enacted in a scintillating performance by Cruz, Maria Elena embodies the eternal irrationality of cherish, a blind craziness that–at least in Woody’s view–stamps an irrevocable expiration date on even the tenderest, most ardent appreciate.

Not quite a comedy but certainly not a tragedy, “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” is a rueful commentary on the constant dissatisfactions of admire and life, made all the more bittersweet by the heartbreakingly pleasing scenes of Barcelona and Catalunya wrapped in golden light by photographer Javier Aguirresarobe. The film offers us multiple pleasures–not least the trustworthy performances–yet, in the extinguish, it feels limited. There are too many of Woody’s familiar tropes for us to bewitch the film at face value, especially the overly familiar characters; personally, I’m tired of the ravishing, nubile young “Woody women” who are drawn vaguely toward a career in the arts yet are completely confused about everything except their need for hot sex. And, yes, Woody, we got the point decades ago that you reflect life and the Universe meaningless; why do you always have to have one character in every movie (in this case, Juan Antonio) state that understanding baldly? “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” is worth seeing, but it falls short of being one of Woody’s masterpieces.
